Short answer: a group gives a team one QR code. Each tip is split as it arrives, in equal shares or by percentages the owner sets, and each member is paid into their own bank account.
How tips are split
- Equal shares: every member gets the same part of each tip.
- Custom percentages: the owner sets a percentage for each member.
Every member can see how each tip was split. Group tips are settled in Australian dollars.
Active shifts
With active shifts switched on (equal splits only), a tip is shared only between the members on shift when it arrives. A member starts a shift for 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 or 12 hours, until a set end time, or until they end it, and is warned about 15 minutes before it ends. If nobody is on shift, all members share the tip.
Roles and joining
A group has an owner, admins and members. The owner chooses whether people join straight away or need an admin's approval.
To work out a split by hours or points outside the app, use the tip split calculator.
